I am so great full that Donna came to my church and spoke to us. Hearing the stories through her own mouth I knew she just had to write it all down to share with others who didn't get to hear her speak. My girlfriend Mira and I told Donna that day she needed to write a book and I was so elated when her sister, my Pastors wife Jan, called me and told me Donna actually did it! I had been one of the women who donated skirts for Donna's journey. She had also gave me the address of one of the Pastors she met in Africa so I could write to them. I sent him my collection of Joyce Meyers audio tapes so he could share the word with the people there. This book was so inspirational and so heartwarming. I cried, I smiled and I learned so much. This book has been very well received at our Lending Library as well as some of the on-campus classes and groups. It is a true story told in vivid color; very inspirational! I continue to order it in bulk the demand continues to grow. There are clusters around the country now that are using it for a group study on the topic of faith and courage and dependence on the Lord.
This book is so wonderful!!! Hard to set down!! It shows the power of prayer and of trusting in God for our every need! I have purchased this book numerous times to give as gifts to my friends and they all have loved it!! It is such an inspiring story!!
I just finished reading this book and absolutely loved it! My faith was strengthened and my heart was encouraged by reading about Donna's experience of walking by faith and the power of prayer. Her humility, kindness, gentleness, and love are evident throughout the book, and her boldness in speaking God's truth is evidence of her dependence on God and her sensitivity to the work of the Holy Spirit. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to know more about God and growing in faith and dependence on Him.
A fascinating story of how an amazing woman of faith, committed to prayer and trusting His guidance, used simple items like clothing and even a sponge as tools to share the precious gospel story that gives hope to people in need. Boldly using the spiritual gifts she received while in Africa, she confidently ministered in ways she never could have imagined. This small book gives a glimpse of the spiritual surprises and blessings God gives to those who seek His will and claim the power His Spirit offers.
Donna's personal relationship with God, her obedience and natural way of living close to Jesus, led by the Spirit is a beautiful testimony of the life God desires for each of His children. The book is a powerful encouragement and witness of living close to God each and every day. I am inspired and blessed by the testimony of Donna and the faithfulness of God evidenced in her life as shared through her experiences in this book. I would recommend this book to anyone who longs to hear God's voice and live each day led by the Spirit.
I loved this book. It reminded me once again about the presence of a God who loves us so much and wants all people to be saved, so He sends His people to deliver that message! Before I retired, I was a middle school teacher in a Lutheran school. If I I were still teaching, this is a book I would read to my class...one chapter at a time...so my students could 'live' with the details of each skirt. I have purchased several more copies of this book....waiting to see to whom I should give them.
This book has been particularly good for me. It is so versatile. While I used it as an individual, it can also easily be used as a small group study. It kept me wanting to know what would happen next. It isn't preachy or a "this is how you should pray" book. The message is woven into the story by example. There is a range of emotions, mystery, and great joy. While this is Donna's story, she tells how others participated and especially thanks and praises our loving Savior, who takes care of the details and whose timing is always right. I bought more than one copy because I wanted to share it, I hope Donna writes more inspirational books. I just discovered that I need another copy.
